McNay ArtStroll: Favorite Fables
Bring your little CASA friends ages infant to 2 years for an ArtStroll themed stroller tour and related sensory playtime at the McNay Art Museum located on 6000 North New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78209. ArtStroll will be on Friday, November 4 at the following times:

10:00 am for children under 12 months
11:00 am for children 12 months to 2 years

ArtStroll is free for CASA Advocates and their kids and $10 per adult for non-Advocates. If you are able to attend, please notify the McNay staff at the front desk that you are an Advocate with your CASA kids and you’ll get in free!

First Saturday Play Days at Hemisfair Park
Enjoy some creative fun with your CASA kid during First Saturday Play Day at Hemisfair Park, located at 434 S. Alamo St. San Antonio, TX 78205. These structured activities are staff-led exercises in imagination and fun! This month’s activities revolve around deploying a HUGE parachute for bouncing and playing! See you Saturday, November 5 at 10:00am.

Southtown Cinema Presents: “Ratatouille”
Come enjoy a FREE family-friendly outdoor movie on Saturday, November 5 at beautiful Hemisfair Park. This month’s featured film is “Ratatouille.” Come early and stake out your spot! There will be food, drinks and music starting at 7:30pm, with show time starting at 8:30pm.   Hemisfair Park, located on 434 S. Alamo St. San Antonio, TX 78205.

Art : Music : Food : Drinks : McNay Second Thursday
Celebrate contemporary art and enjoy FREE general admission to the museum on Thursday, November 10 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Tours offered at 6:30 and 7:30 pm. Enjoy food for sale from food trucks and live music from local artist Jonathon Garcia, playing Americana and indie rock tunes. The McNay is located on 6000 North New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78209.

McNay Toddler Art Play: Exotic Art
Bring your little CASA friends for a Mini museum visit meets creative playtime for children under 5. Wear paint clothes for a messy, fun time outside at the McNay Art Museum located on 6000 North New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78209. Toddler Art Play will be Friday, November 18 from 10:30-11:30am.

Light the Way at Incarnate Word
Kick off the holiday season on Saturday, November 19 at 7:30pm at Benston Stadium, while a million twinkling lights illuminate the night sky at the University of the Incarnate Word. Enjoy live entertainment, leading to the flip of the switch! This free walking or driving experience is truly a San Antonio-style holiday event. Falling Stars at Phil Hardberger Park
View the stars with local astronomers from the San Antonio Astronomical Association at Phil Hardberger Park on Saturday, November 19 from 6 – 8:30pm. Observe the constellations without the obstruction of city lights.  Telescopes will be set up in the open mulched field of the Savanna.  Park in the PHP Urban Ecology Center parking lot, located on 8400 Northwest Military Highway, San Antonio, Texas, 78231. Don’t forget your flashlights!

This educational and exciting event is free and no registration is required. A donation to the PHP Conservancy of $3 per person OR $5 per group is suggested. Follow this link for more information on the event and directional info.

San Antonio Library Film Day: “Finding Dory”
Enjoy the newly released sequel to Pixar’s “Finding Nemo” on Monday, November 21 from 4 – 5:30pm. This free event is located at The Johnston Library, located on 6307 Sun Valley Dr. San Antonio, TX 78227.

Visit the McNay for Free
The McNay Museum has provided free passes for CASA Advocates to take their CASA children.  Passes can be picked up at the CASA office.

Visit the Witte Museum every Tuesday for free!
Every Tuesday from 3-8 pm, the Witte Museum is free for you and your CASA kids. Be sure to take advantage of all of the enhanced activities and programs for free!

The Witte Museum is a staple of San Antonio and showcases science, natural history, health, and heritage of early South Texas and the surrounding environments. Free admission includes entrance to all permanent exhibits, the South Texas Heritage Center, and the HEB Body Adventure.

Hemisfair Conservancy
Every week, the Hemisfair Conservancy has plenty of fun events you can take part of with your CASA kids! Parking is free in the SAISD Parking lot.

Monday 10am-12pm: Imagination Playground with Big Blue Blocks 

Thursday 10am-12pm: Story Time and Take-a-Book, Leave-a-Book Library.

Tobin and H-E-B Cinema in the Plaza
The 2nd Friday of every month has a FREE movie experience on the Tobin River Walk Plaza at the Tobin for you and your CASA kids! Make sure to bring your blanket/lawn chair and join the Tobin and CASA for a free Friday night movie! (Weather permitting!)

This month’s feature film will be American classic, Forrest Gump! Catch this film Friday, November 11 at 8pm; doors open at 7pm! Check out The Tobin Center’s event page for more information.

San Antonio Museum of Art
The San Antonio Museum of Art offers free admission twice a week on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Children 12 and under are always free.

Slab Cinema Offers Free Outdoor Movies!
Want to take your CASA kid to a unique movie experience? Slab Cinema, a local movie company, offers movies in the unique outdoor locations all over the city that you can take part of! The films are sponsored by local organizations around San Antonio like the San Antonio River Authority, the City of San Antonio, and the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA).

San Antonio Aquarium
The San Antonio Aquarium offers free admission to all foster children.  The San Antonio Aquarium welcomes everyone to enjoy the unique interactive experiences found within, and is especially excited to introduce children and families to the world beneath the ocean’s surface.  Guests are encouraged to hand feed sharks, rays, birds, and fish, or to get up close and personal with many of the reptiles and other animals on exhibit.
