APRISA Latin Roots Music and Food Festival

This past Saturday, August 5th, CASA attended the Latin Roots and Music Festival with the Association of Puerto Ricans in San Antonio (APRISA) sponsored by Dignity Memorial, Gunn Nissan San Antonio, and H-E-B.

APRISA hosts multiple events recognizing the contributions Puerto Ricans make to the city of San Antonio and supports social, cultural, and artistic events to promote a better understanding of Puerto Rican Culture. Not only do they provide a support system to cultural outreach but APRISA offers scholarships to non-traditional students as well.

The 2017 Latin Roots and Music Festival featured Latino music, food and performances with many craft and art vendors for all the attendees. This event brought together a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life to enjoy themselves and develop a better understanding of the Latino cultures shared with all of those who joined in celebration of Puerto Rican Culture. CASA was able to join in on this effort to help even more children that need everyone to stand up and be their voice.

This Festival truly provided the perfect environment for all to celebrate San Antonio’s similarities, care for the children we serve, and embrace all of our differences by joining together in the things we all love most – food, fun, dancing, and our community.

If you have an event that you would like CASA to attend, please email Forrest Miller, the Diversity Recruitment Specialist, at fmiller@casa-satx.org and he would be more than happy to organize a CASA representative for you!
