Board Member Spotlight:  Christina Lecholop

Christina Lecholop is a native San Antonian who attended Tom Clark High School.  After earning her degree from the University of Texas at Austin, she began her career at Merrill Lynch in Houston in the summer of 2004.

In 2009, her husband graduated from law school, and they wanted to return home to San Antonio.  At that point, she joined South Texas Money Management, a Texas-based investment management firm.  She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and also works as an Investment Advisor – serving Texas families, foundations and non-profits.

In addition to the recent work she has been doing with CASA, Christina has also served on the Steering Committee for the Witte Society, which strives to increase the awareness of the Museum in the community, plan creative events to engage current and prospective members, and fundraise for field trip scholarships to the Museum.   She plans to rejoin this committee in the fall. She and her husband also hosted a book drive in 2012 called Box of Books, which invited community members to contribute new or gently used books to be used to start classroom libraries for incoming SAISD teachers.  The initiative was successful in collecting over 7,000 books.

With regard to CASA, Christina is most looking forward to serving as a voice for the abused and neglected children in our community and also supporting the CASA Advocates and staff as they carry out the organization’s mission on a daily basis.  As the program works towards the goal of providing an Advocate for every child that needs one, she looks forward to building on the momentum of reaching that goal.
