CASA Represented on Television’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” during “Bachelor Fan Favorites Week

Byron Velvick, B.A.S.S. Elite tour Pro Angler and two-time US Open Champion, also notable for his role in season 6 of The Bachelor, has been a wonderful partner and supporter of CASA (Child Advocates San Antonio). Beyond his stint on The Bachelor, Velvick continued his success by hosting an outdoor television show, Byron Velvick’s Guides Eyes, and diving into local philanthropy.

This year, Byron Velvick’s Lake Amistad Resort was a top sponsor of our November 10th Gallery of Hope Gala, which raised nearly $300,000 for our mission of safe, permanent homes for youth in foster care. Velvick’s attendance at the event was not overlooked, especially when a private fishing-trip with the prized Angler was up for grabs during our live auction. Less than a month later, the San Antonio local is at it again, raising awareness for foster children in Bexar County.

This fall, Velvick was invited to appear on Emmy-nominated “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” during “Bachelor Fan Favorites Week,” where proceeds benefit a nonprofit of the contestants choice. Velvick, familiar with the realm of reality television, accepted the invitation and promptly announced CASA as his beneficiary.

Take a look at his performance, which granted CASA $30,000!
