Crime Victims’ Rights Week in Bexar County

The week of April 6-12, 2014 has been designated Crime Victims’ Rights Week in Bexar County.

Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) is teaming up with local agencies to help bring awareness to April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. In 2013, more than 5,800 cases of child abuse or neglect were reported in Bexar County; and, unfortunately, 10 children lost their lives. As of April 1, 2014, as reported by Judge John Specia of the DFPS, there have already been 6 confirmed child deaths due to abuse or neglect.

The National Crime Victims’ Rights Week committee has organized several events to help remember victims of abuse and to shine a light on the abuse and neglect still happening in Bexar County. Please join us for the following events to help us continue our mission and raise awareness of this epidemic.
