Staff Perspective on CASA’s New Volunteer Training

One of our newest CASA staff members, Carey Jansen, shares details about her experience going through CASA’s New Volunteer Training program:

One of the most eye-opening things I've been learning in my New Advocate training is the sort of mental "bubble" I lived in related to my knowledge and perception of child abuse/neglect. Training has been so informative for me - in terms of how the protective services works, our judicial system, and Texas Family Law. Even if I am unable to take a case, I feel such a greater sense of understanding, which leads to an even deeper commitment of doing my job.
