Volunteer Holiday Party – December 4, 2013

CASA’s annual Holiday Party is scheduled for December 4, 2013 at the Bright Shawl from 6-9 pm. Please join us for an evening of food, fun and dancing in celebration of the work you do for the children and youth of our community. Please RSVP today to Tara Barisic at tbarisic@casa-satx.org or 210.225.7070.

Holiday Season Art & Soul

On November 16, 2013, Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) hosted an Art & Soul with our CASA Advocates and some of the children assigned to their cases. To spark their creativity and excitement for the holiday season, the children were provided the opportunity to create felt snowmen, gingerbread men and women, and holiday trees.  Accessories - such as paint, buttons and glitter - were provided to add to the festive and joyous nature of the pieces, one of which will be featured on CASA’s annual holiday card to be distributed in December. Additionally, the children created their very own take-home pieces, which included hand-painted snowflakes and wreaths.

All in all, it was a magnificent way to spend a Saturday morning in November.

Generous Donations from the Morgan Stanley Foundation and Exxon Mobil Foundation

Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) is always appreciative of donations received from various companies and corporations that are influenced by our very own CASA volunteers or board members. Most recently, CASA received a $2,000 gift from the Morgan Stanley Foundation made on behalf of our Board President, S. Scott House, in recognition of his volunteer service to our agency. Several times a year, CASA Advocate and Exxon Mobil employee, Miguel Luna, generously secures $500 in matching gifts from the Exxon Mobil Foundation in recognition of his volunteer hours. So far this year, Miguel has secured a total of $2,000 for CASA. We are extremely grateful to all of our volunteers - both Advocates and board members - for their hours of service and the monetary contributions provided through their employee giving campaigns.
