Growing and Giving

Big Give SA

The Big Give SA is a 24-hour day of giving that took place from midnight to 11:59pm on May 6, 2014.

CASA stayed up for 24 hours straight and managed to raise over $14,000 from 193 unique donors.  All donations will help CASA continue to live our mission and ultimately reach our goal of providing an Advocate for every abused/neglected child who needs one by the year 2020.

As a first year event for San Antonio, The Big Give SA had hopes of raising $1 million for 300 local agencies. However, all expectations were surpassed with over $2 million donated to 467 different Bexar County non-profits.  To see the results online, please visit http://thebiggivesa.org/#npo/child-advocates-san-antonio

Gallery of Hope 2014

The Gallery of Hope is a visual narrative of what CASA does as an organization, and it reflects the bond that forms between CASA Advocates and the children they serve.  Our intent for this project is to create awareness and educate people about CASA.

The Gallery in its entirety consists of both a permanent installation at CASA headquarters and a traveling exhibit.

If you are interested in participating in the 2014 Gallery of Hope, please contact your Advocate Supervisor or Will Murphy at wmurphy@casa-satx.org. To view photos and listen to Advocate stories from our 2013 Gallery of Hope, please visit http://www.casa-satx.org/be-involved/gallery-of-hope.

Texas Bar Foundation

Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) has received $5,000 from the Texas Bar Foundation to implement and expand the Crossover Youth Practice Model (CYPM) program.

In 2013, the CYPM project was launched as a pilot program in Bexar County, Texas through Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA). It continues to be only one of five metropolitan CASA agencies implementing a CYPM in Texas. Without the generous support of the Texas Bar Foundation, the initial implementation of this project would not have been possible and further expansion of the program would have been impeded.

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $15 million in grants to law-related programs.  Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably-funded bar foundation.
