Gallery of Hope Inaugural Gala

On Thursday, September 19, 2013, CASA hosted the Gallery of Hope Inaugural Gala at NuStar Energy.  The main focus of the evening was the reveal of the gallery exhibit in which the photos by Will Langmore provided a visual narrative of what CASA is about as an organization.  The display included audio of CASA Advocates and staff telling the stories of service which accompanied the photos.   Guests also enjoyed four different wine and food pairing stations that offered a wide variety of gourmet, house-crafted selections, as well as signature cocktails created specifically for the event. The short program consisted of a video portrayal of the CASA story as told through the eyes of an Advocate, as well as silent and live auctions that combined to raise additional funds above and beyond the sold out event. Exciting “extras” included the cigar and chocolate bar on the patio and entertainment by the Merchants of Jazz. Overall, the event was a great success and we are extremely grateful for all those who attended.

CASA’s First Annual Masquerade March

Please join us as we celebrate the fall season in style!  In conjunction with our Art & Soul Initiative, we plan to host our very first annual Masquerade March for our CASA children and youth on October 16, 2013, from 4:30-6:30pm, at The Bright Shawl (819 Augusta, SATX 78215). This exclusive art project focuses on creating unique and magnificent masks. Following a brief storytelling session, each child will have the opportunity to choose one of the featured animals to inspire the creation of their masks. When the mask is completed, they will choose from various accessories such as ears, tails, boas and hats to complete their overall “look”. In celebration of their creative efforts, the CASA children will then participate in a parade, showing off their colorful designs to Advocates and CASA staff. Healthy snacks, beverages, and treats will be provided. Please RSVP to Tara Barisic at or 210.225.7070.
