CASA Day at the Capitol

On Thursday, February 16, 2017 our CASA volunteers and staff took part in CASA Day at the Capitol, a biannual event held by Texas CASA, to discuss the important issues facing Bexar County with our local representatives and their staff. During the day, our dedicated Advocates asked for their support to help us continue our important work for abused and neglected children right here in our community.

Our CASA staff members and Advocates helped make our presence bigger and better than ever this year! Hundreds of Advocates, staff, and volunteers from all over Texas made appointments with their legislators to share our mission and why they should vote to increase funding for the CASA network in Texas, support Senate Bill 11, House Bill 1556, and other important Legislative priorities. The volunteers and staff shared their personal testimonials to provide a meaningful story behind the importance of their vote in support of our efforts.

Join us in thanking the Congressional Staff and Senators Jose Menendez and Carlos Uresti, Speaker Joe Straus, and Representatives Diane Arevalo, Diego Bernal, Philip Cortez, Barbara Gervin-HawkinsRoland Gutierrez, Lyle Larson, Ina Minijarez, and Tomas Uresti for taking the time to meet with us in Austin and we can’t wait to see you again at our next Day at the Capitol.
