Consider Giving to CASA this #GivingTuesday

Families across the country know the routine of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two days amped up by consumers and the media for months leading up to Thanksgiving week. Following a weekend-long spending spree, we often hear about #GivingTuesday; but what is it? #GivingTuesday encourages participants to step away from consumerism and step into their communities.

Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities. Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday, raising more than $116,000,000 worldwide.

This year, we invite you to join the movement and get out and give this #GivingTuesday. There are many ways to serve your community, with no involvement too small.

A new year comes with new goals, in 2017 Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) hopes to facilitate a record-breaking 800 volunteers, serving 2,500 youth who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Your time and donations can help make this vision a reality!

Ways to support CASA:

Monetary donations are always welcome and can be made through our website. It takes $1,000 for CASA to serve a youth in the Bexar County Foster care system; every dollar counts!

We accept in-kind donations ranging from new children’s toys, from bilingual books, to new cozy coats. All items benefit children who are in the Bexar County foster care system. Everyday items, that are often taken for granted, make a tremendous impact on the youth we serve. Feel free to contact us for more information regarding in-kind donations.

Looking for a fulfilling volunteer opportunity? Consider becoming an Advocate, and give a voice to children who may otherwise fall through the cracks of an overburdened system. Our Advocates are key to bringing our mission of safe, permanent homes to life.
