Community Grievance Policy

Community Grievances are individual’s concerns that arise from the application of CASA’s policy procedures or practices; this includes discrimination and/or harassment as defined previously.

Members of the community are encouraged to take grievances involving CASA staff directly to that person/those persons for discussion and resolution. If any person feels the issue remains unresolved, they may at any time request a meeting with the staff’s immediate department Vice President where all parties are present. If the issues are unresolved then a meeting with the CEO will be requested.

Community Grievance Process

Any member of the community who has a grievance with CASA staff or with a volunteer regarding the actions or operation of CASA should specify their grievance in writing and provide it to the CEO. Following the CEO’s receipt of the grievance, the CEO will schedule a meeting with the grievant. Following this meeting, if the individual is not satisfied with the CEO’s handling of the matter, the individual may submit the written grievance to the Chair of CASA’s Board of Directors. The Board Chair will then place the grievance on the agenda of the next available meeting of the Board.

Grievances can be mailed or emailed to:
