Intent of Position

This position will support CASA’s volunteer advocate recruitment goals through excellent customer service, compassionate communication, and prompt, accurate database management.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruit volunteer advocates through administrative support of information sessions, recruitment events, and ongoing recruitment activities.
  • Accurately maintain the volunteer advocate recruitment database with regular and thorough documentation throughout the recruitment process.
  • Generate reports and mailing lists from the database.
  • Promptly and warmly communicate with people who are interested in volunteering for CASA and, if appropriate, encourage them to apply to volunteer.
  • Participate in advocate pre-service training within six months of hire and then in a minimum of 12 hours of ongoing education per year.
  • Other duties as assigned by your leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications with advanced use of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Skills in database management.
  • Skills with utilizing tracking systems, reports, and data analysis.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to organize and multi-task efficiently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to review work for accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze issues.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to sit and work comfortably for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds, walking and standing for extended periods, and bending to reach for materials.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in business administration, or a related field, or one year of experience in business administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field, or two years of experience in business administration.
  • One year of experience in database management.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish.
Quality Assurance:
  • Comply with National and Texas CASA and applicable grant requirements. Applicants must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
  • Applicants must pass a child abuse and neglect registry check and maintain abuse and neglect registry eligibility.
  • Valid current and unexpired Class “C” Texas Driver’s license and maintain throughout employment.
  • Proof of current automobile insurance and maintain throughout employment.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required.
  • Establishes, improves, and refines as necessary, CASA internal control procedures, including compliance with established procedures and best practices
