February Advocate Spotlight

1. How long have you been an Advocate and when did you realize you wanted to become one?

I was listening to the morning news and heard a feature segment on CASA and the work they do, my heart was touched and the rest is history.

2. What is the most rewarding aspect of being an advocate?

Giving them the opportunity to let down their guard and just be a kid.

3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to your fellow and incoming Advocates, what would they be?

When things become difficult in your case always remind yourself why you became an advocate, think about those kids and how you can help make their lives better. Think about the support and love they need during this extremely difficult time in their lives and how much it means to them to have a caring, reliable person they can count on. Then remember how blessed you are to have been given the opportunity to be that person.
