This position is an exempt position and will require working hours outside of a typical work week. CASA will accommodate the selected candidate’s work schedule for any additional hours worked at after-hour events.


The intention of this position is:

This position will build lasting partnerships with local agencies, provide connections to service and in-kind resources needed by children and youth in foster care, and bring awareness and education of CASA and our programs to the community. This position functions as a bridge between recruitment, training, and advocate support programs and the community resources needed. In addition, the position builds CASA’s community expertise through public delivery of educational resources.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community-based service providers to support families and kinship caregivers.
  • Provide consultation and resource connection support to CASA Child Advocacy Supervisors and advocates.
  • Collaborate with the programs team to build and maintain a resource referral database with quality feedback.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate community resources based on internal referrals and unique family needs.
  • Support Advocate Supervisors in planning and executing annual events such as Back-to-School drives and holiday gift campaigns.
  • Partner with Mission Advancement staff to cultivate and steward donors supporting direct service initiatives.
  • Represent CASA at community events and stakeholder meetings to expand the resource network and aid volunteer recruitment.
  • Develop educational content and campaigns (e.g., blog posts, social media, newsletters) to raise awareness about child welfare and foster care.
  • Organize and deliver regular training and educational opportunities for CASA staff and volunteers on community resources.
  • Co-lead campus and community outreach events such as DreamWeek, resource fairs, and family support events.
  • Plan and implement awareness campaigns for Child Abuse Prevention Month, including the Memorial Wreath Laying event.
  • Promote CASA’s values of child safety, family engagement, and permanency through all interactions and duties.
  • Participates in advocate pre-service training within six months of hire and then in a minimum of 12 hours of ongoing education per year.
  • Other duties as assigned by your leadership.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning related to marketing, public relations, applicable field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience creating educational resource materials for print and social media.
  • Experience in public speaking and presenting both informationally and persuasively.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience working in social services system and demonstrated ability to create functioning network within children and youth services.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (necessary for the successful performance of a position)
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications with advanced use of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge of child welfare system.
  • Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and similar graphic design platforms.
  • Knowledge of Constant Contact.
  • Skills in database management.
  • Skills with utilizing tracking systems, reports, and data analysis.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to organize and multi-task efficiently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to review work for accuracy.
  • Ability to sit and work comfortably for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds, walking and standing for extended periods, and bending to reach for materials.
Quality Assurance Requirements:
  • Comply with National and Texas CASA standards and applicable grant requirements.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required.
  • Applicants must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility throughout employment.
  • Applicants must pass a child abuse and neglect registry check and maintain abuse and neglect registry eligibility throughout employment.
  • Possess proof of current automobile insurance and maintain throughout employment.
  • Possess a valid current and unexpired Class “C” Texas Driver’s license and maintain throughout employment.
